About CalcWell

The story, the standards, and the honest limits behind 24 free browser-based calculators.

What CalcWell Is

CalcWell is a collection of 24 free online calculators covering three areas of everyday decision-making: money (compound interest, loans, mortgages, paychecks, retirement), home projects (carpet, flooring, tile, concrete, epoxy, pool volume), and vehicles (fuel mileage, tire fitment, depreciation). Every calculator runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript — the numbers you enter are never sent to or stored on a server.

Why We Built It

Most calculator sites bury one working tool under twelve pages of ads and pop-ups. We wanted the opposite: clean, fast, honest tools where the math is standard, the assumptions are stated, and the answer appears the moment you click. If a result is an estimate — like take-home pay or a retirement projection — the page says so plainly.

How the Tools Work

Each calculator uses published, standard formulas: amortized loan payments, compound growth, unit conversions, and sizing rules of thumb drawn from industry charts. Where a result depends on local inputs — sales tax rates, property taxes, gas prices — the page asks for them rather than guessing. Financial outputs are planning estimates, not advice; every finance page carries that disclaimer.

Editorial Standards

Calculator logic is verified against reference values before publication, and pages are reviewed whenever a formula or industry convention changes. If you spot an error, the contact page goes straight to the person who can fix it — corrections are typically deployed within days.

The Short Version

Free tools, no accounts, no uploads, plain-language assumptions, and a disclaimer where honesty demands one. That's the whole business model and the whole promise.
